Al Shamal adds Pecherov to their roster

Al Shamal Doha (D1) added to their roster 32-year old Ukrainian international center Oleksiy Pecherov (213-106kg-85). He played last summer at Sagesse in Lebanese Pepsi LBL, but left the team in March. In 5 games he recorded 12.8ppg, 8.2rpg and 1.0bpg in 2016 season. The last season Pecherov was tested by the Nuggets in NBA.
In 2006 he was drafted by Washington Wizards (NBA) in first round (18th overall). Pecherov won Dubai International Tournament championship title.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he was voted Eurobasket.com Ukrainian Superleague All-Domestic Players Team back in 2012.
Pecherov has been also a member of Ukrainian international program for some years. He has regularly played for Ukrainian senior team since 2006 and previously for U20 National Team between 2003 and 2005.
Pecherov also represented Ukraine at the Qualifications to European Championships 2013 five years ago. His stats at that event were 7 games: 4.9ppg, 3.1rpg.
Pecherov is quite experienced player. He has played also professionally in Estonia (Kalev/Cramo), France (Paris Levallois), Italy (Armani Milano), Russia (Krasnie Krilya), Spain (Valencia Basket), NBA (Minnesota Timberwolves) and Ukraine (Politekhnik, BC Kyiv and Azovmash).
