Defending champion SK Cherkasy Monkeys (Superleague) agreed terms with 24-year old international point guard Klym Artamonov (185-91kg-93). It is actually his comeback to Cherkasy as he has played here before. Artamonov has played for the last two seasons at Bipa Basket in the Superleague. In 28 games he had 10.9ppg, 3.5rpg, 7.2apg (leader !!!) and 1.3spg last season. Quite impressive year as he was named to Eurobasket.com All-Ukrainian Superleague 2nd Team and to the All-Star Game.
Artamonov's team made it to the SL Favorit Sport Semifinals in 2016.
He has been also a member of Ukrainian international program for some years. Artamonov has regularly played for Ukrainian senior team since 2012 and previously for U20 National Team between 2012 and 2013.
He also represented Ukraine at the World University Games in Taipei (Taiwan) last year. His stats at that event were 8 games: 7.5ppg, 2.9rpg, 4.9apg, 1.6spg, FGP: 41.7%, 3PT: 14.8%, FT: 75.0%.
Artamonov has played also professionally in Lithuania (Siauliai, Delikatesas and Pakruojis) and Russia (Spartak Primorie Vladivostok).
