No shocking result in a game when ninth ranked Quimper UJAP (18-15) beat at home 16th ranked La Rochelle (13-20) 74-61. It looked good early as La Rochelle took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Quimper UJAP had a 21-12 second period charge getting the lead and La Rochelle was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 61-74. Quimper UJAP players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by La Rochelle's players. The best player for the winners was Ukrainian forward Vyacheslav Bobrov (201-92) who scored 15 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Power forward Thomas Seguela (201-93) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. Quimper UJAP's coach Laurent Foirest allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward William Walker (200-87, college: Bethel, IN, agency: Octagon Europe) who recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and Slovakian power forward Justin Sedlak (206-87, college: Florida Tech, agency: Octagon Europe) added 9 points and 7 rebounds respectively. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Quimper UJAP. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Caen. La Rochelle lost their third game in a row. They keep the sixteenth position with 20 games lost. Quimper UJAP's next round opponent will be higher ranked Lourdes-Tarbes (#5) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. La Rochelle will play against the league's second-placed Saint Vallier (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
