New Trend Agency helped the Acqua Vitasnella Cantu (Serie A) landed 28-year old American point guard Jaime Smith (190-83kg-89, college: Al.-Huntsville). He played most recently at Khimik in Ukrainian Superleague. In 37 games he averaged impressive 18.5ppg, 2.4rpg and 4.5apg last season. Smith helped them to make it to the final after they ended regular season as second best team. It was a very successful season in his career as he was awarded All-Ukrainian Superleague Newcomer of the Year, selected to 1st Team and selected to All-Imports Team. Smith also played 14 games in Basketball Champions League where he had very remarkable stats: 17.6ppg, 2.7rpg and 4.6apg. He can count that season as a very successful as was selected to All-Basketball Champions League Honorable Mention.
The previous (15-16) season Smith played at Liege Basket (Scooore League) in Belgium. In 31 games he recorded high stats: 15.7ppg, 1.5rpg, 3.3apg and 1.1spg. He contributed in the Supercup final. Impressive indeed as was selected to All-Belgian League Honorable Mention.
Among other achievements his team won GSC Regular Season for two years in a row (2012 and 2013). Smith received also All-GSC Player of the Year award back in 2013 at his college time.
And here thanks to pro basketball Smith experienced life on three different continents. He is familiar with European, Latin American and of course North American leagues. Smith has played previously professionally in Argentina (Quilmes Mar del Plata), Portugal (Lusitania) and Switzerland (Fribourg).
He attended University of Alabama in Huntsville until 2013 and it will be his fifth season in pro basketball.
