Power forward Maks Adam Konate (202-PF-91) had a very impressive game in the last round for top-ranked Prometey, receiving a Interperformances Higher League Player of the Week award for round 30.
The 27-year old player had a double-double of 33 points and 13 rebounds, while his team outclassed Dnipro-2 (#8, 6-20) with 30-point margin 95-65. It allowed Prometey to consolidate first place in the Ukrainian Higher League. Prometey has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 28-1. In the team’s last game Konate had a remarkable 70.6% from 2-point range. He turned to be Prometey’s top player in his first season with the team. Maks Adam Konate has solid league stats. He is in league’s top in points (2nd best: 21.1ppg), rebounds (5th best: 9.1rpg) and averages impressive 65.6% FGP.
The second best player in last round’s games was 22-year old Ilya Kabatsiura (195-F-96) of Zolotoi Vek. Kabatsiura had a very good evening with a double-double of 29 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Zolotoi Vek lost that game 82-91 to slightly higher-ranked SumDU (#6, 10-19). Zolotoi Vek managed to keep the same 7th spot in Group 1. His team is not often considered as one of the league’s best with a mere 8-18 record. Kabatsiura is a newcomer at Zolotoi Vek and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.
Third on the list of top players last round was forward Artem Kovalov (202-F-97, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) of Khimik-2 (#3). Kovalov scored 25 points and grabbed thirteen rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Khimik-2, leading his team to a 105-92 easy win against the lower-ranked Kyiv Basket 2 (#8, 8-20). Khimik-2 needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams in Group 2. Their record at this point is 18 victories and 7 lost games. Kovalov has a very solid season. In 6 games in Ukraine he scored 17.7ppg. He also has 11.0rpg, 2.2spg, 3.7bpg and FGP: 50.7%.

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
