News / Larry Hall gets MVP of the Week award for Ukrainian Superleague

Experienced American Larry Hall (190-G-83) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's second-best Halychyna and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Superleague Player of the Week award for round 2.
The 32-year old guard got a double-double of 14 points and ten assists, while his team beat Hoverla (#6, 0-1), the league's bottom-ranked team 83-71. Halychyna is placed at 2nd position in Ukrainian Superleague. But it's just the very beginning of the season and Halychyna won just one (their first) game. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. Hall turned to be Halychyna's top player in his first season with the team. Western Oregon University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Hall is in league's top in rebounds (4th best: 9.0rpg) and averages solid 4.0spg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young point guard Ernesto Tkachuk (189-PG-94, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) of BK Kremen. Tkachuk impressed basketball fans with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. Bad luck as BK Kremen lost that game 61-91 to Dnipro (2-0). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Tkachuk is a newcomer at BK Kremen and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was international forward Stanislav Tymofeyenko (202-F-89, agency: Octagon Europe) of top-ranked Dnipro. Tymofeyenko scored 12 points and grabbed eleven rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Dnipro, leading his team to a 91-61 easy win against #4 ranked BK Kremen in a game of the week. Dnipro has a very good start of the season. But there were just 2 games played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Tymofeyenko also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. Tymofeyenko has a great season in Ukraine. After only 2 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.0rpg (5th best).
