News / Leonid Stefanishin is a newcomer at Batumi

Basketball Club Batumi (Superleague) strengthened their roster with addition of 30-year old Ukrainian ex-international forward Leonid Stefanishin (199-84kg-85, agency: New Trend Agency). The last
season Stefanishin played at Hoverla in Ukrainian league. In 8 Superleague games he recorded 8.3ppg, 3.8rpg, 3.6apg and 1.0spg.
The previous (13-14) season he played at Politekhnika Lviv (Higher League) in Ukraine. In 24 games he averaged 5.4ppg, 2.8rpg and 2.2apg in 2013-14 season.
Among other achievements Stefanishin's team made it to the Superleague Semifinals in 2013. He received also Eurobasket.com All-Ukrainian Superleague Most Improved Player of the Year award back in
2007.
Stefanishin was also a member of Ukrainian international program for some years. He played for Ukrainian Senior National Team two years ago and previously for U21 National Team between 2003 and
2004. Stefanishin also represented Ukraine at the World University Championships in Bangkok eight years ago.
He has played also professionally for other Ukrainian teams like Budivelnyk and DniproAzot.
