Dmitriy Lypovtsev put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for second-ranked SC Kryvbas and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 3.
He had the game-high 24 points adding eight rebounds for SC Kryvbas in his team's victory, helping them to beat Bipa Basket (#9, 0-3), the league's bottom-ranked team 77-62. SC Kryvbas maintains the 2nd position in Ukrainian league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. SC Kryvbas will need more victories to improve their 3-1 record. In the team's last game Lypovtsev had a remarkable five three-pointers out of 8 attempts. He turned to be SC Kryvbas' top player in his first season with the team. Lypovtsev has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (3rd best: 16.3ppg), rebounds (3rd best: 7.3rpg) and averages solid 2.5spg,71.4% FGP and 45.0% from behind 3-point line.
Second best performed player last round was Viacheslav Petrov (203-PF-94) of top-ranked Khimik. He is a forward in his 2nd season at Khimik. In the last game Petrov recorded impressive 21 points and 5 rebounds. Of course he led Khimik to another comfortable win 81-62 over Cherkasy (1-2) being unquestionably team leader. A very good start of the season for his team, which won so far all 4 games without any defeat. Petrov is well-known at Khimik and he already established his position as one of the team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 13.5ppg (#7). He also registered 5.8 boards per game.
Third place about best performers goes to Oleksandr Kobets (194-SF-96) of Cherkasy (#4). Kobets scored 22 points and grabbed eight rebounds. He was a key player of Cherkasy, leading his team to an 83-69 easy win against Mykolaiv (1-2). The chances of Cherkasy not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 2 games, recording just one victory. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Kobets could try to bring Cherkasy's a little bit higher in the standings. Kobets has individually a great season in Ukraine. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.0ppg (2nd best) and rebounds with 6.0rpg (6th best).
