Maksym Lutsenko gets MVP of the Week award for Ukrainian Superleague

Talented Maksym Lutsenko (188-SF-93) had a very impressive game in the last round for Budivelnyk and that's him to receive a Superleague Player of the Week award for round 5.
The 22-year old had the game-high 28 points adding five rebounds and three assists for Budivelnyk in his team's victory, helping them to outclass Khortytsia (#6, 1-2) with 33-point margin 87-54. Budivelnyk is placed at 3rd position in Ukrainian Superleague. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost two games earlier this season. Budivelnyk will need more victories to improve their 3-2 record. In the team's last game Lutsenko had a remarkable six three-pointers out of 8 attempts. It was one of impressive evenings for him as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Lutsenko has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (8th best: 6.2rpg) and averages solid 60.0% FGP and 48.1% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 33-year old Nigerian center Aleksey Adediran (202-C-82) of Khortytsia. Adediran impressed basketball fans with 20 points and 5 rebounds. Bad luck as Khortytsia lost that game 54-87 to the higher-ranked Budivelnyk (#3, 3-2). Khortytsia is still second from the bottom in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 1-2 record. Adediran is a newcomer at Khortytsia and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.3ppg (#3). He also registered 8.7 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was former international center Volodymyr Gurtovyy (207-C-75) of second-ranked Halychyna. Gurtovyy scored 22 points and passed five assists. He was a key player of Halychyna, leading his team to an 87-73 easy win against the lower-ranked Kharkiv (#5, 2-2). Halychyna needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 3 victories and 1 lost game. Gurtovyy has a great season in Ukraine. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 16.8ppg (7th best).

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
