Former international Center Sergiy Zagreba (214-C-94) had a very impressive game in the last round for top-ranked Prometey, receiving a Interperformances Higher League Player of the Week award for round 5 (Second Stage).
The 24-year old player had a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds, while his team beat Rivne (#3, 13-5) 88-79. The game was between two of the league’s top four teams. It allowed Prometey to consolidate first place in the Ukrainian Higher League. Prometey has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 17-1. It was one of impressive evenings for Zagreba as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Sergiy Zagreba averages this season 10.2ppg and 6.5rpg.
The second best player in last round’s games was 26-year old Gleb Buzko (193-SF-92) of Mariupol. Buzko had a very good evening with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Bad luck as Mariupol lost that game 88-97 to the higher-ranked Khimik-2 (#4, 8-10). Mariupol managed to keep the same 7th spot in the standings. 14 lost games are too many comparing to just four victories Mariupol managed to get this Second Stage. Buzko is a newcomer at Mariupol, but is already one of team’s top players.
Third on the list of top players last round was Alexander Prozapas) of Lutsk Univ. (#8). Prozapas scored 20 points and passed five assists. Despite Prozapas’ great performance Lutsk Univ. lost 64-78 to slightly higher-ranked Niko-Basket (#6, 6-12). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Lutsk Univ. can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 2-16 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Prozapas he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Prozapas has a very solid season. In 22 games in Ukraine he scored 3.3ppg.

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it’s accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) – 2*BSAG – 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM – 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) – 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) – (FTA-FTM)
